Introducing the Executive Leadership Council’s New Chair

Alphonso Maldon is the founder, president, and chief executive officer of Partnership Strategies Consulting, where he strives to help companies grow their business into the federal market space through strategic business development, government affairs solutions, and advisory services. Outside of Alphonso Maldon’s professional career, he supports of the Executive Leadership Council, a members organization dedicated to cultivating and growing the number of black executives in the business world.

In January, the Executive Leadership Council elected Orlando D. Ashford as its chair. Based in Seattle, Washington, Mr. Ashford is the president of the Holland America Line, a cruise line offering cruises to destinations worldwide.

He succeeds Rhonda R. Mims as the Executive Leadership Council’s president, having previously served as the council’s vice chair. In a press release, Ashford expressed that he is “honored and eager” to serve the Executive Leadership Council in his new capacity, where he aims to expand the council’s “reach and impact.”

Ashford’s term as the Executive Leadership Council’s chair will continue through the end of 2018. The council’s CEO and president, Ronald C. Parker, praised the new chair by calling him a “dedicated leader” who will “raise the profile and impact” of the Executive Leadership Council.
